Here are reports of some experimental project reports i’ve been involved in in the past. These have been in various spaces like restaurant design, working to launch an aluminium innovation projects call in South Africa, thinking about the online sales and corresponding inventory and POS for wonderful ceramic studio with an international clientele based near Pietermaritzburg in South Africa, a home medical remedy app, designing a micro-finance startup, thinking of philately inspired stamps for emails.
Project 1. Design an experience for a new restaurant. This was done as part of an internship with the Experiential Design Studio, New Delhi. Here’s the report of the project.
Project 2. This was a 2 week trip from school to work with and experience life in South Africa. Got a chance to spend a week learning about the Aluminium Beneficiation Initiative being piloted in South Africa and thinking of interventions for the call to aluminium innovation startup ideas + re-assessing existing ideas. Spent around a week at the beautiful Ardmore ceramic studio, and learnt about their online sales and present inventory + POS systems and offered some redesign thoughts around it. Here’s a report about these two works (all done with a friend from school and wonderful people at South Africa).
Project 2. I was involved with conceptualizing a startup related with micro-finance. Here’s a report of that and here’s a video concept.
Project 3. This was a short design sprint about rethinking emails. The idea we focused on was drawing from the nostalgic practise of philately stamps and rethinking that for the digital age. Here’s a blog about the day of thinking about this and a paper we were invited to write about it. Here’s also a short concept video.
Project 4. When i was in my undergrad, i volunteered with teaching at an after school space for underprivileged students from the campus surrounding villages. Apart from being a very fulfilling experience, it also presented an interesting case of thinking about how the system of teaching these kids, talking with their parents who were often reluctant to send them to the school (they’d rather have them start working and earning money) could be improved overall. Over one of the semesters, a bunch of us took this up as a project and worked on creating some activities based on our experiences with teaching these kids. Here’s a report of the project.
Project 5. This was done for a design class. In a team of 3, we worked on creating an app for home remedies for common ailments. Here’s a report of the project.
