Here is a collection of works around designing interfaces for screens (e.g. mobile apps, websites, TV apps) and creating graphics (e.g. data visualization, posters, T-shirt designs). Most of these are from a few years ago.
Website design. Client- Teapot
This was at the end of 2013. Teapot was a Silicon Valley startup to allow people to share their physical spaces with people they could trust, based on a trust score calculated through social media. Made various iterations for their initial website design, thereby also creating initial visual language of the organization. Also created high fidelity prototypes. This was done along with a friend at my undergrad university.
Here’s a link to the early mockup implementation.
Here’s some sketches of brainstorming and wireframe design that went behind the mockup:
Home-med phone application
This was done for a design class. In a team of 3, we worked on creating an app for home remedies for common ailments. Here’s a few photos from the process, involving user study, idea tags, mind maps, information architecture, wireframes and UI design:
Smart TV Games. Client- Samsung
Created two fully functional games for the Samsung Smart TV in a team of 4(i guess then newly launched in India because Samsung had an open call for game designs and some of our ideas got selected for making finished games). One game was around learning vocabulary and another a Mario like game. Some of the interesting aspects were designing keeping in mind the input constraints that the TV remote would have. Here’s some screenshots from that (i was involved in conceptualizing and graphic design)-
Here’s some brainstorming sketches that went behind the app designs:
Mobile App Design. Client- Bridgestone and Expense on Demand
I did an internship with Persistent Systems for about 1.5 months where i worked on interface design projects involving the complete cycle of sketching, wireframing to visual design and high fidelity mockups for 2 mobile apps. Here’s some images from that-
Industrial Design
This was for a product design class assignment in a team of 3. We had to design a curtain rod and think about various factors like how to easily allow for making the line taught, ease the installation process etc. We then had to manufacture the finished product. We created the product mostly with the lathe machine (this project was a great learning experience!). Here’s some photos and renders-
Data Visualization
This was a data visualization for a campaign to spread awareness about Cardio Vascular Diseases in India.
Poster Design. Client- Industrial Conclave, Techniche
Techniche is the annual techno-management festival of my undergrad university. Along with being a core member of the management team, i was involved with quite a bit of the design work for the festival. I co-led the Industrial Conclave module, for which i designed this poster with a friend for publicity purposes.
Here’s also a couple of T-shirt designs for the festival. The theme of the festival was Pixelating Perfection- a theme i proposed and helped create branding material around!
Quick poster design for a class at MIT given the keyword bore
Invitation Card Design. Client- Design Show, Department of Design, IIT Guwahati
This was an invitation card for the end of semester design exhibition at my undergrad. I made this with a friend. The idea was to have a tip tip top top (link) game as the invitation card, where each time you played a round, you would get different information about the exhibition, like what all to expect, venue, date/time etc. I like writing poems, and wrote a small invitation poem to be read out through playing the game.
