Built a music instrument using bungee cords. The bungee cords acted as continuous music controllers. This project was for the ‘New Musical Instruments’ class i took under Joe Paradiso and Tod Machover at the MIT Media Lab. I built the instrument with Vasant, a graduate student at the lab.
To build the instrument, we had to build a new sensing system to get accurately the stretch amount of the bungee cord. This was done by using springs attached to the bungee as sensors. It was fun building this and playing with it later!
